Privacy Policy
ClickTrends has no accounts, no ads and no third-party trackers. This page sets out exactly what is recorded, what is deliberately not, and what you can ask us to do about it.
01The short version
- There is no account to create, so there is nothing to sign up for and no profile of you.
- We do not store your IP address. It is used in memory to work out your country, then discarded.
- There are no advertising or social-media trackers, and no third-party analytics scripts.
- We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone for marketing.
- What we keep is anonymous, aggregate traffic data: which pages are read, which countries visitors are in, and which sites link to us.
02What we collect
Anonymous traffic data. When you open a page, our own server-side analytics records: the page path, the referring website (the site that linked you here, if any), any UTM campaign tags in the link, your approximate country and region, and a coarse device category (mobile / tablet / desktop) with browser and operating-system family. It also records when you click an outbound product link, so we know which deals people find useful.
What we do NOT keep. Your IP address is never written to our database. It is used once, in memory, to resolve your country, and to produce a one-way hash so that repeat page views in a day can be counted as one visitor rather than several. That hash is salted with a secret that includes the current date, which means it cannot be reversed back into an IP and is useless for following anyone from one day to the next. We do not collect your name, email, precise location, or any advertising identifier.
Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive exactly what you type into it - your name, your email address and your message - and we store it so we can reply.
03Why we collect it, and the legal basis
Anonymous traffic data is used for one purpose: to run the site. Which deals are worth listing more of, which pages are broken, whether a product page is actually being read, and which sites send real visitors. Under the UK/EU GDPR our lawful basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) - the data is aggregate and anonymous, is not used to profile or target anyone, and is never shared for advertising.
Contact-form messages are used solely to answer you. The lawful basis is legitimate interests, or performance of a request you made of us.
05Third parties your browser contacts
We embed no third-party scripts, but a few external services are involved in showing you a page:
- AliExpress CDN (alicdn.com, aliexpress-media.com) - product photos and videos are served from AliExpress's own image hosts rather than re-uploaded here, so your browser requests them directly and those hosts see that request.
- AliExpress - when you click an outbound link, you go to AliExpress and their privacy policy applies from that point on.
- ipwho.is - a free IP-geolocation service, called to show prices in your local currency. The call happens from your browser and sends only what any web request sends.
- open.er-api.com - a public exchange-rate feed used for that same currency conversion. It receives no information about you.
Our own hosting provider processes requests on our behalf and keeps standard short-lived server logs.
06How long we keep things
- Detailed anonymous traffic rows: 60 days. After that they are rolled up into monthly totals (how many views, from which countries) and the individual rows are permanently deleted.
- Monthly aggregate totals: kept indefinitely. They contain no identifier of any kind.
- Contact-form messages: kept while the conversation is open and deleted on request.
07Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU or another region with similar law, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data about you, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
In practice, the only personal data we are likely to hold is a message you sent us. Write to support@clicktrends.xyz and we will delete it. We genuinely cannot action a request about the analytics data, because there is nothing in it that identifies you - that is the point of collecting it the way we do.
California residents. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
08Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us a message, write to us and it will be deleted.
09Security
clicktrends.xyz is served over HTTPS. The admin dashboard is protected by a password stored only as a bcrypt hash in server-side configuration, never in the database, and its sessions use signed, HTTP-only cookies. No system is perfect, but there is also very little here to take: we hold no payment details and no customer accounts.
10Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the “last updated” date at the top of the page changes with it. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised policy. Questions: support@clicktrends.xyz.
